INTERESTING FACTS

This shell holds its name from the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela, that once decorated their coats with its symbol. It has been consummed since time immemorial by mankind.

The "Pecten Maximus" is considered  as the true King Scallop. It lives in the Northern Atlantic and is an hermaphroditic mollusc feeding on vegetal plankton. In Brittany, the fishind is easy and abundant, specially in St-Brieuc's bay in Côtes d'Armor.
